Ekki

Ekki is a product of multiple species of Lophira. African sourced, grown from Sierra Leone to Nigeria and the Cameroons.

The sapwood is a pale pink which is defined sharply against the heartwood which is dark brown. A noticeable characteristic in Ekki is the speckled appearance due to white deposits in the pores. The grain usually interlocked with a course texture.

Ekki can prove very difficult to work with due to its high density and interlocked grain.

Ekki is most suitable for heavy constructional use.
