Ted Lewis, the grandfather of current managing director James, joined the timber trade in Liverpool in 1923 with a company called Hunter Fowles & Co Ltd, where he rose through the ranks to eventually own and manage the business. James’ father and uncle, Tony and Brian, managed the business after their father passed away. The two brothers later sold the business and started AB Lewis Ltd in 1976.

The AB Lewis team is a stable one, with unrivalled length of experience and knowledge of the timber trade. Between them they have over 150 years in the timber business.
